Nail art testers on my friends.

simple white dots.

gold stripe.
Inspired by Illustrated Nail.
Nail art will always remind me of pre-teen sleepovers and miniature stick on gems, but over the past two years it has taken a mature turn onto the catwalk and into the celebrities’ eye. Featuring on Meadham Kirkhoffs S/S12 catwalk, the nail art trend has become a pre-catwalk beauty necessity. The boutique Wah nails has particularly taken off. Having previously only owned the one salon in up and coming Dalston, it now features a miniature boutique within the flagship store of
Topshop Oxford street. Wah nails have also collaborated with the beauty range Models own – launching their own nail art pens for a DIY at home approach. Topshop themselves have now released their own nail art pen - with a more felt – tip style nib than the Models Own, more suited for on the go paint jobs (brilliant in the back of a bumpy cab.) Sophy Robson of Illustrated Nail hosted a party in Shoreditch during the Christmas period. After attending the “NailPorn” party, I’m so impressed with the designs created, that I feebly try to replicate them on a regular basis. My dodgy attempts should be improving soon enough, as Wah nails are releasing a book this April. "The WAH Nails book of Nail Art" hopes to provide a step-by-step on how to paint fiddly details, and impressive patterns with ease. I am really keen to trying some new challenging prints, but until April, I will be sticking with a simple stripe. Pre-order the book  HERE
